Daehwa Sanjang in Hwangridan-gil: Marinated Beef Ribs and Sharing Sets
Our Neighborhood Arena · August 28, 2026
Daehwa Sanjang is an easy Hwangridan-gil choice if you want Korean beef ribs but prefer a simple ordering structure. The Korean name is 대화산장, roughly pronounced “dae-hwa san-jang.” Public menus show marinated beef rib meat, salt-grilled beef rib meat, half-and-half combinations, and sharing platters.
The signature-style option is Gyeongju-style freshly marinated beef ribs. The menu also offers a salt-grilled version, so two people with different preferences can compare seasoned and unseasoned meat at the same table.
For groups, the small, regular, and larger platter options make ordering easier. Some set menus also include side dishes or meal items, so the table can be organized with one main order instead of choosing every item separately.
The restaurant is mainly an afternoon-to-evening stop, which fits well after walking around Hwangridan-gil and the nearby historic area during the day. Queues and sold-out items can change on weekends, so check the latest opening status before visiting.
Compared with Daereung Galbi, Daehwa Sanjang is easier when you want a pre-structured platter with marinated and salt-grilled beef. Choose Daereung Galbi if selecting the beef cut yourself is part of the experience; choose Daehwa Sanjang if sharing one organized platter is more convenient.
Korean mini-challenge: 소갈비 means beef ribs. Show “대화산장” on your phone and ask “대화산장 어디예요?” (dae-hwa san-jang eo-di-ye-yo?) — “Where is Daehwa Sanjang?”
