Bokgil is a useful Hwangridan-gil stop if you want a warm Korean rice meal rather than pizza, noodles, or café food. The Korean name is 복길, roughly “bok-gil.” Current public menus list abalone sotbap, hanwoo bulgogi sotbap, abalone porridge, grilled mackerel, and set meals that combine several items.

Sotbap means rice cooked and served in a hot pot. Bokgil’s abalone version is served with several jeotgal-style salted seafood side dishes and roasted seaweed. If your group prefers meat, the hanwoo bulgogi sotbap gives you a second main option without changing restaurants.

For two or more travelers, the set menus are easier to understand than ordering every side separately. You can choose different sotbap bowls and add grilled mackerel or grilled abalone to share in the middle of the table.

The restaurant is in a two-story hanok-style building on Cheomseong-ro, close to Daereungwon and the Hwangridan-gil walking area. Official tourism information highlights the view toward the ancient tomb area, so it fits naturally into a sightseeing route.

Current public hours are 10:30 to 21:00 with a break from 16:00 to 17:00. Queues can change on busy tourism days, so check the latest opening and waiting status rather than relying on a fixed wait-time estimate.

Choose Bokgil when your group wants abalone or bulgogi sotbap with shared grilled dishes. If you want a wider range of toppings such as steak, salmon, or pollack roe, Oega Hwangridan-gil is the clearer comparison.

Korean mini-challenge: 솥밥 is “sot-bap,” 전복 is “jeon-bok” (abalone), and 불고기 is “bul-go-gi.” Show “복길” on your phone and ask “복길 어디예요?” (bok-gil eo-di-ye-yo?) — “Where is Bokgil?”
