Taeri Jutaek vs Hwangri Hwadeokga: Which Hwangridan-gil Pasta Meal Fits Your Gyeongju Trip?
Our Neighborhood Arena · August 29, 2026
Taeri Jutaek and Hwangri Hwadeokga are both current pasta options around Hwangridan-gil, but they build the meal differently. This is not a firsthand taste ranking. The useful comparison is menu breadth and Korean-style twists at Taeri Jutaek versus wood-fired pizza and a hanok setting at Hwangri Hwadeokga.
ROUND 1 — Do you want a wider spread beyond pasta? Taeri Jutaek lists perilla pork-jowl pasta, Bolognese, shrimp rose and vongole pasta, plus porcini cream risotto, steak and fresh-pasta roll lasagna. If your group wants several different kinds of plates, Taeri Jutaek wins this round.
ROUND 2 — Is pizza essential? Hwangri Hwadeokga centers its menu around a 450°C oak wood-fired oven, with Quattro Formaggi, grilled shrimp and other pizzas alongside scallop cream and mushroom cream pasta. If pasta plus a shared pizza is the plan, Hwangri Hwadeokga is the clearer choice.
ROUND 3 — Korean ingredient twist or Gyeongju atmosphere? Taeri Jutaek’s 깻잎 항정 파스타, kkaennip hangjeong pasta, uses perilla leaves and pork jowl for a Korean-leaning variation. Hwangri Hwadeokga’s strength is the hanok garden and wood-fired-oven setting. Pick Taeri for the menu twist, Hwangri for the setting.
ROUND 4 — Do traveler services matter? Current official tourism information for Hwangri Hwadeokga notes English assistance, overseas card acceptance, reservations and high chairs, and the restaurant is also active in the Our Neighborhood Arena app catalog. Taeri Jutaek is currently operating but is not yet registered in the app catalog.
FINAL — Choose Taeri Jutaek if you want several pasta styles plus risotto, steak and lasagna. Choose Hwangri Hwadeokga if you want pasta with oak wood-fired pizza in a hanok setting. Korean mini-challenge: 태리주택 is ‘tae-ri ju-taek,’ and 황리화덕가 is ‘hwang-ri hwa-deok-ga.’
