Ryoko (료코 / Ryoko / ree-oh-koh) sits in the hanok lanes of Hwangridan-gil, between the Daereungwon and Cheomseongdae sightseeing area. It is useful for travelers who want tonkatsu but are eating with people who may prefer omurice, curry or noodles.

The signature Ryoko Katsu is described as pork tenderloin tonkatsu. Tenderloin is generally the softer, leaner cut, so this is the straightforward choice if you want a gentler texture rather than the stronger chew and fat of loin-style cutlets.

Ryomurice is another menu closely associated with the restaurant, combining fried rice, sauce and a buttered egg layer. Rose curry and a spicy stir-fried noodle dish also broaden the table beyond tonkatsu, which can make Ryoko convenient for mixed-preference groups.

For a Gyeongju walking day, Ryoko fits naturally into a route that connects Hwangridan-gil with Daereungwon and Cheomseongdae. Recent public visitor records repeatedly mention waits at busy times, so checking same-day opening hours and avoiding the main meal rush is sensible if your itinerary is tight.

Show the Korean name 료코 on your phone if you need help finding the restaurant. A useful Korean mini-challenge is 이거 주세요 (ee-guh joo-seh-yoh), meaning “This one, please,” when pointing at the menu, and 메뉴판 주세요 (meh-nyoo-pan joo-seh-yoh), meaning “Menu, please.”
